SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG – 5 FOLD WORK

The result of the people involved in the `Work’ at the 5-fold `Work’ level will be: –

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

Ephesians 4:14.

The problems of being theologically based in ones church activities, rather than `work’ `Work’ based are highlighted in verse 14 above. In the `Wworkplace’ the fruit is what counts –

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control;

Galatians 5:22

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19 -21

To defend ones theological position; the need is inevitable to arrive at a position of theological disputations, which eventually leads to `deceitful scheming’ in order to uphold ones theological position.

One is forced into: –

You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned in the mount of the assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

Isaiah 14:13, 14

This situation comes about because we become entranced with the splendour of one’s own theological position!

The scribes and the Pharisees were always accusing Jesus on theological issues, demanding that he come into line with them. [I will set myself above you]. Jesus accused them of being whited sepulchers, snakes and vipers!

The only safe way to go is with the Wwork, in which it is the Holy Spirits function to be the: –

I have said all this to you while I am still with you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will be your teacher

in all things and will put you in mind of everything I have said to you.

May peace be with you; my peace I give to you: I give it not as the world gives. Let not your

heart be troubled; let it be without fear.

John 14:25 – 27 [Bible in basic English]

…Counsellor will not come to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgement: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgement, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.”

John 16:7 – 11

It is easy to read the above scripture quickly and lose the tremendous import of the words, which show that it is the Work of the Holy Spirit – and not ours to – CONVICT THE WORLD OF GUILT IN REGARD TO

SIN

RIGHTEOUSNESS

JUDGEMENT.

We usurp the God given function of the Holy Spirit if we attempt to bring conviction in any of the above 3 areas, thus our sole function is to present the Word, and then allow the Holy Spirit to proceed with His Work.

“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

John 14:25, 26.

A way to flow easily with the Holy Spirit has been dealt with in considerable detail in Book 3 THE LOCAL CHURCH – HIS BODY MANIFEST. Study of that Book will show that all we have to do is to present the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, through His Word, and then let the Holy Spirit get on with His function; in meetings which allow Him to Work.

‘So he said to me, “this is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: `Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Zechariah 4:6.

“But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

Matthew 12:28.

As believers we need to begin to work at the details of the New Covenant:

“This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord

I will put my laws in their minds

and write them on their hearts.

No longer will a man teach his neighbour,

or a man his brother, saying,

`Know the Lord’

because they will all know me,

from the least of them to the greatest.

For I will forgive their wickedness, and will remember them no more.”

Hebrews 8:10-12.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. That is why God says:

“When he ascended on high,

he led captives in his train

and gave gifts to men.”

(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for the works of service…………..

Ephesians 4:1 – 12

* From these scriptures it is plainly evident that there is `work’ that believers are expected to be equipped in, and take part in! This is the period of initial training, so constitutes `work’ spelt with a small `w’.

We see an example of this in the life of Paul: –

Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles……..

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up into the third heaven.

Galatians 2:1, 2 Corinthians 12:2

* Where work is spelt with a capital ‘W’ in the text below, it refers to all Work done by the 5-fold ministries, i.e. Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Evangelist and Teacher.

Where work is spelt with a small ‘w’ it refers to work done by believers, preferably in a 5-fold configuration, in terms of being trainee ‘future’ 5-fold ministers.

Where the letters ‘Ww’ are combined together, it refers to Wwork done in collaboration between the 5-fold minsters, and the trainee believers.

So Paul took part in church activities at the local level for fourteen years before entering the `Work’ spelt with a capital `W’ as the scriptures imply below: –

In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucuis of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the Tetrarch) and Saul. While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,

“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.

Acts 13:1 – 3.

The parameters within which one arrives at the `Work’ level are clearly laid out in Book 6 of this series that deals with

We will go into the subject of a Christian stronghold in much greater detail in Book 6, but we find in the chart below further contextualization of the spiritual sacrifices, the offerings and the five-fold ministry.

These are all vital to link the establishment and development of Churches together.

The reason we can call this the Glorious Church is shown in the following scriptures, and it cannot be over-emphasized: –

Ephesians 4:11 -16

11 And he gave some as Apostles, and some, prophets; and some, preachers of the good news; and some to give care and teaching;

[Authors note – pastor and teacher are from two different Greek words —

‘pastor’ is Strong’s 4166 poimhn poimen poy-mane’

and ‘teacher’ is Strong’s 1320 didaskaloj didaskalos did-as’-kal-os

and therefore are two different ministries and offices.]

12 For the training of the saints as servants in the church, for the building up of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come to the harmony of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to full growth, to the full measure of Christ:

14 So that we may be no longer children, sent this way and that, turned about by every wind of teaching, by the twisting and tricks of men, by the deceits of error;

Please note verse 13 in particular which states that if we do the five-fold ministry we will become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ,

and if that is the situation how can the Church that is set up in this way be anything but the Glorious Church?

The numbers in the general body of all Books 1 through 12 have significance as well, as we can see from the comments below.

Wherever the numbers below are found in the Bible, they are found to have the given contextual meaning.

Multiples of numbers enhance the meaning by the equivalent of the multiple, and meaning of the original number.

To contextualize the above we need to take note of the following in the scriptures:

1 = beginning, source.

2 = witness, testimony

3 = Godhead, wholeness

4 = earth, world, 4 corners, 4 winds, 4 seasons

6 = against man/men, satan

5 = grace, offerings, ministry.

7 = divine perfection, completeness.

8 = Resurrection, new beginnings

9 = Finality, Fullness, time from conception to birth, what God gives.

10 = law order, government, Ten Commandments, human responsibility.

11 = Incompleteness, destruction.

12 = Divine government, 12 apostles, administration.

In God’s kingdom it is never about status; but always about function and responsibility.

Believers — ‘Ecclesia’ — the called out ones [from the world].

This applies to everybody in the Body of Christ, no matter what functions they may have, and this aspect remains eternally, which means that even if one has a world-wide ministry, we must never forget that one is just a believer with other believers, and one fellowships with other believers on that basis, and ministry is part of our function and responsibility not about status.

*Books 1 through 12 in this series, and in particular 3 through 7, are individual explanations of the areas of their concern, based on research into those areas since 1989. Revelation from the Holy Spirit was and is crucial to the impact and grasp of the implications of each section now and into the future..

Jesus said: –

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:17 – 20.

The local Church needs to meet on church ground – that is wherever the Church meets, wherever the Body of Christ manifests, and to build a stronghold – everything that the Body of Christ stands for; to help with –

What is the responsibility of the brethren?

Each brother or sister must not only bear the responsibility of the local meeting/cell group, but also consider all the brothers and sisters who are in Christian fellowship throughout the earth.

Churches established by a person, individually, from the four ministries of Prophet, Pastor, Evangelist and Teacher, only, will mean that the world will be seen through that individual’s shade of spectacles. Believers will get only one-fourth of the picture.

The Lord ensured that the author of this book SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG was led, step-by-step, to find clear definitions and explanations, from the Scriptures, of how the five-fold ministry was made up and expressed. He took me outside of my own shade of spectacles, and would not let me put my own emphasis on matters.

~~ LEADERSHIP CORE OF 12 IS GATHERED

3 sets of 4 Ministries — PROPHET, EVANGELIST, PASTOR, TEACHER. [as described in Book 3 through 7 of this series]

The leadership core stage provides a group to own, and oversee, the vision. This core stage consists of 12 leaders chosen because of their potential for their obedience to the Lord, not because of their learning, or their apparent ability. They are the basic community for preparing future leaders. The Pastor provides for stability at this stage. The first set of Elders can be drawn from this group as well.

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two {Some manuscripts seventy; also in verse 17} others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.

~~~ THE SUPPORT NETWORK OF 70 FOLLOWERS SETS THE PROTOTYPE.

The support network stage gathers together those who will implement the vision. Jesus equipped and trained His core group, and an extended family network over a period of about 3 years, and who were often deployed 2 or by 3 at a time. These are made up of multiples of the prophet, pastor, evangelist and teacher ministries depending on the need of the situation.

1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues {Or languages; also in verse 11} as the Spirit enabled them.

~~~ 120 BECOME THE FIRST BASE CONGREGATION.

The base congregation forms the unit where power for ministry and multiplication can happen. The upper room experience! The structure as shown in Books 1 through 12 in this series is a vital element in preparing the congregation to be able to give full expression to the power they will receive from the Holy Spirit. Good vegetation can only be grown in fertile, well prepared ground. This is the point at which the established cell groups can begin setting themselves up as above to start making other congregations. The result will be as these verses below describe.

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

They then represent the resurrected Christ in His new spiritual body the Church, harmonized into the multiplication of cells, congregations and churches in “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth” as described in Books 1 through 12 of this series, which complete the information needed for the foundation of the Glorious Church. The church expands the vision; the cycle continues until all who will have been called into the Kingdom of God.

So that there might be no division in the body; but all the parts might have the same care for one another.

And if there is pain in one part of the body, all the parts will be feeling it; or if one part is

honored, all the parts will be glad.

Now you are the body of Christ, and every one of you the separate parts of it.

SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG – THE SECOND REFORMATION

A need exists for the Body of Christ to come together corporately; and this would manifest itself as the number of cell groups, fellowships, local church groups grows, and is established in a biblical pattern, [see Book 3 for details]; and when these are implemented, they then becomes the seed of the Glorious Church, and how that happens is shown below.

Ephesians 4:25 [New International Version]

…just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

26 to make her holy, cleansing [Or having cleansed] her by the washing with water through the word,

27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

The only way to meet as a congregation in this format is a Celebration service on the Lord’s day,

whose sole purpose for getting together is for us to ‘worship God’.

Nothing else!!!

The Holy Spirit can then take full charge of a meeting like that to bring glory to God.

If one looks at video tapes of crusades around the world that are conducted with this format there is always a massive move of the Spirit of God, with wonderful things happening.

All other activity takes place in the cell groups as outlined in Book 3.

It is also understood that the ideal ways of meeting given in Book 3 need to be built towards on a daily basis, moving nearer and nearer to the ideal, as time goes on.

The Celebration service helps to arrive at the upper room experience where 120 believers were gathered together; and to see how this group came to be, we need to look at –

The following is adapted from, and with acknowledgment to the considerable excellent and penetrating detail in his book in which he arrived at conclusions of how Jesus established His Church, through considerable research.

It is highly recommended that the reader avail themselves of a copy.

However, his book does not deal with the five-fold ministry in detail. He mentions it only twice near the beginning of his book.

It is impossible to establish the end-time Glorious Church ‘without spot or wrinkle’; without establishing the five-fold ministry as declared in Ephesians 4:11 – 16.

The Scriptures clearly explain that if we do the five-fold ministry, as described, we will become ‘like’ Jesus. We will not be Him, but we will be ‘like’ Him. What a wonderful prospect!!!

SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG – FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS

– Thus a fellowship/local churches/cell group will be a group of believers meeting on a sustained basis in biblical order to achieve the objectives of the Holy Bible; in a clearly defined geographical area.

And while they were doing the Lord’s work, and going without food, the Holy Spirit said, Let Barnabas and Saul be given to me for the special work for which they have been marked out by me.

Acts 13:2 [Bible in Basic English]

– A ministry will be a `work’ as defined above, a `special messenger’ having a specific task given by the Lord to build up the `local church/fellowship/cell group’ and will be required to `fellowship’ with that local church/fellowship/cell group in order to receive funding from the Trust.

– There is to be no sharing of funds for a `recognized’ Five-fold ministry; unless such `minister’ be seen to be attending an established `fellowship/local church/cell group’, because the purpose of ministry is the extension of God’s Kingdom and therefore has to be an intimate part of God’s Kingdom, and that the `minister’ has an ongoing relationship with a `local fellowship/local church/cell group, and is attending on a continuous basis as a `believer’. They are also to be seen to be involved in the multi-level activities of the day-to-day operation of church life; in terms of their area of function of ministry.

There has to be networking at every level in the body: –

***BELIEVERS***

– Believers need to be able to get to know one another throughout the Church at….

– Believers need to devote themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer; they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of the people.

– Believers need to begin to aspire to the ideal of `All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.’

– Believers need to move to the ideal of `every day they continued to meet in the `temple courts’- the 5 Church meetings.

– Believers moving in this way will mean `And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

***DEACONS***

Deacons need to move as the Scriptures have laid down for their activities.

Deacons need to take care of the day-to-day activities of church functioning; and to do this they are to act as the `conveners’ of the cell groups/fellowships/local churches.

***ELDERS***

– Elders need to be able to get to know one another throughout the Church at……….

– Elders need to be in constant inter-action with believers and the people involved in the Work; the five-fold ministry, etc.

***WORKERS/FIVE FOLD***

– Workers/Five-fold need to be able to get to know one another throughout the Church at……….

– Workers/Five-fold need to flow in unity with each other and the Elders.

– Workers/Five-fold, individually, need to be associated with a local fellowship/local church/cell group simply as a believer.

– Workers/Five-fold need to get on with the appointed task of establishing local churches/fellowships/cell groups, to constantly extend the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In order to fund these activities on a scriptural basis to fulfill the role of a Deacon as given in Acts 5:1 – 4; all incoming monies to go into a central fund e.g.: –

THE INSTITUTE TRUST

Funds will be disbursed in terms of Trust deed clauses: –

7.2 The trustees shall be exempted from any further responsibility concerning any part of the trust capital or trust income, which is conveyed to any beneficiary and shall be exempted from all further duties at the termination of the trust.

13.1The funds held by the trustees shall be utilized to benefit any person, persons, group of persons, Trust or legal person that falls within the objects set out in clause 3.11
